Theo Thông tấn xã Việt Nam, Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Đặng Hoàng Giang cho biết, Hội nghị lần này đã thành công trọn vẹn và đạt kết quả toàn diện, thông qua một số văn kiện quan trọng và chuyển các cam kết chính trị thành hợp tác thực chất.

Khi đánh giá sự tham gia và đóng góp nổi bật nhất của Đoàn Việt Nam trong chuỗi hội nghị này, Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Đặng Hoàng Giang cho biết, tiếp tục tinh thần đường lối ngoại giao của Đại hội toàn quốc lần thứ 14 của Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam về duy trì “sáng kiến, trách nhiệm và vai trò lãnh đạo” trong ASEAN, Bộ trưởng Ngoại giao Lê Hoài Trung và Đoàn Việt Nam đã tham gia chuỗi hội nghị này để chủ động hoạch định và đóng góp các giải pháp. Qua gần 20 lần gặp gỡ, Việt Nam đã để lại nhiều dấu ấn sâu sắc.

Việt Nam hợp tác chặt chẽ với Philippines, nước chủ tịch và tất cả các nước thành viên nhằm thúc đẩy sự thống nhất và đồng thuận trong ASEAN; tích cực hỗ trợ chủ tịch thực hiện các ưu tiên và sáng kiến khác nhau một cách hiệu quả và kịp thời; đề xuất một số sáng kiến, khái niệm nhằm củng cố đoàn kết và tăng cường khả năng tự chủ, kết nối của ASEAN.

Việt Nam cũng chủ động tham gia và chỉ ra phương hướng thảo luận về vấn đề Biển Đông tại nhiều hội nghị, nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của hòa bình, an ninh và ổn định ở Biển Đông, nhấn mạnh lợi ích và trách nhiệm chung của tất cả các nước, bảo đảm lập trường nguyên tắc của ASEAN về vấn đề Biển Đông được thể hiện đầy đủ trong nhiều văn kiện hội nghị.

Theo ông, các đối tác đều đánh giá cao vị thế, vai trò và thành tựu phát triển của Việt Nam; họ coi Việt Nam là đối tác ngày càng quan trọng trong khu vực và trên thế giới.
