Theo thống kê của Cục Quản lý và Phòng chống thiên tai Đập nước, Bộ Nông nghiệp và Môi trường Việt Nam, tính đến 8 giờ ngày 19/7, thảm họa thiên tai này đã khiến 4 người chết, 4 người mất tích và 9 người bị thương. Số thương vong chủ yếu tập trung ở tỉnh Lai Châu.

Một đoạn Quốc lộ 32 và nhiều tuyến đường địa phương vẫn bị gián đoạn, gây khó khăn lớn cho việc vận chuyển và công tác cứu hộ, cứu nạn. Thống kê sơ bộ cho thấy, thiệt hại kinh tế do thảm họa này gây ra xấp xỉ 255 tỷ đồng, trong đó tỉnh Lai Châu bị ảnh hưởng nặng nề nhất.

Sau khi thiên tai xảy ra, các cấp ủy, chính quyền địa phương đã nhanh chóng tổ chức lực lượng quân đội, công an, dân quân, cứu hộ cứu nạn tìm kiếm, cứu nạn người mất tích, di dời người và tài sản đến vùng nguy hiểm, sửa chữa giao thông, điện lực và các cơ sở hạ tầng khác, tích cực giúp đỡ người dân bị ảnh hưởng trở lại sản xuất và cuộc sống bình thường.

Theo dự báo của Trung tâm Dự báo Khí tượng Thủy văn Quốc gia Việt Nam, mưa giông vẫn sẽ xảy ra ở nhiều nơi trên cả nước từ tối 20 đến ngày 28/7. Trong đó, khu vực phía Bắc sẽ có mưa rải rác và giông vào đầu tuần tới, một số nơi có thể xảy ra mưa to đến nặng. Cục Khí tượng nhắc nhở, giông có thể kèm theo lốc xoáy, sét, mưa đá, gió giật mạnh; ở vùng núi, độ ẩm đất bão hòa do mưa liên tục sớm, nguy cơ lũ quét, trượt lở đất còn cao.
